Downloading Two-Way Texting Conversations

Maintain your records and work smarter. Saving client conversations in their records ensures your entire staff is ready to engage with any client at any time. That's why we built Two-Way Texting so you can easily download text conversations with clients and attach them to the appropriate record in your practice management software!

  1. While logged in to the PetDesk Dashboard, click the Inbox tab on the left navigation panel

  2. Select a conversation in the left column and select the 3 dots in the bottom left-hand corner

  3. Click the Download Conversation button to download the conversation thread as a text file (.txt)

    • If you find yourself downloading the same thread of a client, we recommend replacing the existing file with this newly created one


Within the file, we include the following info, as available:

  • Practice name

  • Client's name, phone number, and email

  • List of all pets on the client's account

  • Conversations are divided by date

  • Messages are marked as Outbound or Inbound, with a timestamp

  • Media attachments appear as links with the labels (Image), (PDF), or (Video)

    • To view media attachments and images, copy and paste the links to a web browser (Chrome or Firefox)

  • Currently, emojis will appear in this text file
