With Virtual Care tools like Two-Way Messaging and Video Chat, practices have secure communications tools that fit both patient and client needs. Creating and conducting a virtual appointment with PetDesk is quick and easy.
On the upper right of the PetDesk Dashboard, within the Virtual Care tab, an Instant Virtual Appt button can be seen. This allows you to click and start the Instant Virtual Appointment process.
Once clicked, you'll arrive in the Video Chat lobby and will be prompted to search for a client.
Search results will appear within a scrollable list and provide the client’s full name, client ID, picture (if available), and a phone/star icon next to the name.
- A phone icon indicates that the client has downloaded the PetDesk mobile app.
- A star icon, over the phone, indicates that they are enrolled in the clinic’s loyalty program.
To select the desired client, click on the name or photo. Proceed to the next step of selecting the pet.
Search results will appear within a scrollable list and will display the pet’s name, pet’s photo (if available), and the pet’s age (if available). If more than one pet result appears, you will need to select an individual pet to continue.
To initiate the appointment, you'll click on the button Start Video Call.
PetDesk will notify the client through push notification within the PetDesk mobile app and/or SMS/email. Within our communication, PetDesk will embed the 'magic' link for Video Chat that will allow the pet parent to quickly download the app and enter the video call seamlessly.
The pet parent will then proceed to the virtual lobby, to provide a name, and enter the call.
